Wildware! BBS 209-277-3005 Information on upgrading wwVerify 1.xx to 1.22 =================================================== There is a lot of new features and neat changes to version 1.22 of wwVerify. We STRONGLY recommend that you read ALL the documentation on the new version and take a look at all the new configuration features in the wwVerify Configuration Utility. 1) Copy the new .wcx files WWVERIFY.WCX and WWVERCFG.WCX to your Wildcat! home directory. If you are running wwVerify as a logon.wcx, remember to rename the new wwverify.wcx file to logon.wcx. 2) Copy file WWVERIFY.DOC and WWVERIFY.HST to your Wildcat home directory. Make sure you read these files!!! :) Note: if you are upgrading from version 1.20 or 1.21 you can skip steps 3-5, but please read wwverify.hst file for changes. 3) Run the "wwVerify Configuration Utility" and select "1) Configure wwVerify." This will automatically convert wwVerify's configuration file to the new version 1.22 format the first time you run it. You will also want to take a look at all the new configuration options. See 'wwverhst.txt' for a list of new features. 4) While still in the wwVerify Configuration Utility run "2) Create database index", this will create the required user database index file. 5) Read the wwverify.hst and wwverify.doc files for changes to wwVerify and the wwVerify Configuration Utility. Thats it, have fun! Wildware! *** This is an option *** ========================= For those Sysops that run wwVerify as a "menu selection" you may now place wwVerify in it's own sub-directory. Please read wwVerify's docs for setup information. If you do decide to place wwVerify in it's own sub-directory, here is a list of the files that you will need to move: wwverify.doc, wwverify.wcx, wwvercfg.wcx, wwverify.cfg, wwverify.cty, wwverify.lld, wwverify.cod, wwverify.bad, wwverify.hst, wwdbnums.idx, wwvercfv.dat. if file wwbdnums.dat exists move it also. Make sure that you do the version 1.22 upgrade and get it configured and running before you move the files to the new sub-directory. You will also have to modify the "parameters" setting in Makemenu for wwVerify and the wwVerify Configuration Utility to point to the new sub-directory.
